Abstract

In Islamic times, the "dar (house)" played an important role in the social fabric of society under the leadership of Prophet Muhammad. These houses were not just physical structures for living but were integral to the religious, social, economic and political life of Muslims. These places facilitated the spread of Islamic teachings, provided shelter and support to the needy, and were important for important political and administrative decisions. The social structure of early Islamic society during the time of Prophet Islam was deeply rooted in the concept of "dar". The main objective of this study is to investigate the various roles that the "dar" played in the early Islamic community and how they functioned as centers of economic endeavor. This research adopts a qualitative approach, using a comprehensive literature search to gather historical texts and scholarly interpretations. Primary sources include references to the Qur'an and Hadith, which provide insight into the behavior of the Prophet Muhammad and the social norms of his time. Secondary sources include scholarly articles on early Islamic society, historical texts, and contemporary studies. "Dar" played an important role in the Islamic period, serving as important centers for religious, educational, social, economic and political activities. These houses facilitated the spread of Islamic teachings, promoted social harmony, helped the needy, and provided a base for economic activity. The Qur'an and Sunnah emphasize the importance of these roles, reflecting the comprehensive nature of Islamic teachings that integrate spiritual and worldly affairs.
