Abstract

The preservation of Islamic traditions is essential for the welfare and prosperity of humanity, as it offers a clear, defined path rooted in eternal truths. In an era of rapid global change, many Muslims have distanced themselves from their civilizational heritage, adopting aspects of Western culture, which pose a significant threat to the survival of Islamic civilization. This research explores the intellectual and ideological conflict between Islamic and Western civilizations, with particular focus on the Indian subcontinent, where tensions have intensified following centuries of colonialism. Despite the establishment of Pakistan, the challenge of preserving Islamic traditions persists. Three primary responses to this challenge: complete adoption of Western civilization, total rejection, and a reconciliatory approach, have emerged in Muslim societies. Through an analysis of Islamic civilization's core beliefs, ideological foundations, and social structure, this study argues that the preservation of Islamic traditions is not only crucial for Muslim identity but also necessary for the establishment of a stable, balanced global order. By examining Islam’s comprehensive framework for individual and collective development, this research underscores the importance of remaining anchored in natural laws and fundamental principles to ensure the enduring success of civilizations.
