In this article, I will discuss whether parents of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) were Muslims or not and I will substantiate this discussion with evidence from the Quran, Hadith, and the work of reliable Islamic scholars like Mulla Ali Qari and Sayuti. Mullah Ali Quari is one of the most prominent and renowned scholar of the 11th century Hijri. He explains in his book Majmah Rasail that the prophet’s parents died before he converted to Islam, so he was not a Muslim.he gave arguments in the light of Imam Abu Hanifa’s fatwa, in which it has been said that the parents of the prophet died in disbelief. Quari supports his claim with Quranic verses and Hadith. Allama Sayuti says that the prophet’s parents were Muslims and they were saved by Allah with a special mercy. They say that although he died before the appearance of Islam, Allah saved him by His grace.
